More peace, concentration, and well-being in open-plan offices

Modern working environments are increasingly relying on open-plan concepts. One issue is coming into particular focus: acoustic comfort. Open-plan offices enable flexible use of space, promote communication, and create room for creative collaboration—but at the same time, they place high demands on acoustic design. This is because when lots of people work together, a certain amount of background noise is inevitable. And if this noise is not specifically regulated, it can significantly impair the concentration and well-being of employees.

Elegance meets efficiency

A high-quality acoustic solution was specified during the planning stage for the newly constructed office and commercial building in the Nibelungen Carree in Regensburg. A total of 400 Eclipse islands from Rockfon were used in the large office units. They are impressive both architecturally and functionally: the islands, which absorb sound on all sides, not only blend harmoniously into the modern room design, but also make a decisive contribution to the acoustic quality. Thanks to their very high sound absorption, they effectively reduce reverberation and noise levels – two factors that often cause stress and distraction in open-plan offices.

Thanks to their free-hanging installation, the islands can be used to create individual ceiling designs that enhance the appearance of the rooms while significantly improving the room acoustics. The combination of functionality and design creates an atmosphere in which employees feel comfortable – and this has a direct impact on the quality of their work.
